The Centre for Policy Alternatives (CPA) and the Friedrich Naumann Stiftung für die Freiheit (FNST) held a roundtable discussion on ‘Freedom of Expression and the Internet in Sri Lanka’ on 2 August 2010 in Colombo. The discussion was anchored to a new report by CPA examining challenges to freedom of expression online, on the Internet and web. The report highlighted global challenges as well as specific problems in Sri Lanka ns was the first attempt to document existing and emerging threats to freedom of expression outside well-known challenges facing mainstream print and terrestrial broadcast media.
