Conmen & trust in the age of ICT

Linked to my earlier post on trust, came across an interesting story on BBC that interviews Frank Abagnale. In it, Frank makes some very interesting points:

“Forty years ago I needed a huge machine to forge a realistic cheque,” says Frank. “Now I can do it with Photoshop in 10 minutes.”

“Every system, every technology, every document has a flaw somewhere. All you’re doing is finding that flaw and manipulating it.”

These two statements alone are great points of discussions on the future of trust(building), especially in the design of Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) systems.
