Recording of HPCR’s live seminar on “ICT and Protection: Can Information and Communication Technology Enhance Humanitarian Action?”

On 12 May, I delivered a presentation in my capacity as Special Advisor to the ICT4Peace Foundation to a web seminar on ICT and Protection: Can Information and Communication Technology Enhance Humanitarian Action?, organised by the Humanitarian Law and Policy Forum at Harvard University.

The original recording of the entire web cast can be streamed from here.

You can listen to my submission here as a MP3.

I was the first to be invited to speak, and I begin my brief presentation at around 6.38 mins. The sound breaks up towards the end, which I only realised when I listened to the recording again. While I wish the organisers had alerted me to this as I was speaking, the associated Powerpoint presentation is also embedded here, and hopefully the participants did got something meaningful out of it despite the technical drawbacks of a global web conference. When I was speaking, there were around 200+ participants from Chile, Egypt, Lebanon, Switzerland, the UK, US, China and some countries in Africa.
